By The Time You Read This . . .
I will be off into the woods at Yokoji Zen Mountain Center for a much needed long weekend of sitting and silence.

Morning Coffee w/ Poetry & Birds
Lullaby of Entropy
How do you pray for
faith?
Wind without sound
wakes voices from other
things.
Earn your way
back into being
by saying
the silence after the
music.
Be Generous
In Your Thoughts, Deeds, And Things
No one understands
the subtle work of small grey birds--
what will count
is the tenderness evoked
in those who come after
remembered breath, unconfused words.
All things fear not to live.
Awareness, not fear,
is our humanity.
Poems by Terrance Keenan in his wonderful book St. Nadie in Winter: Zen Encounters with Loneliness
